EU Responsible Person for Amazon Sellers — GPSR Compliance
Since the GPSR took effect, Amazon asks sellers shipping to the EU to name an EU Responsible Person for products made outside the EU. Does Amazon require GPSR compliance?
Yes. Since the EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) began applying on 13 December 2024, Amazon has required GPSR information for products sold into the EU. Listings that lack manufacturer details or an EU Responsible Person can be blocked or removed from Amazon's European marketplaces, so sellers outside the EU need a Responsible Person before they list.
What does Amazon ask sellers to provide?
For products manufactured outside the EU, Amazon asks for the manufacturer's name and contact details plus the name, postal address and e-mail of an EU Responsible Person. You enter this information in the compliance fields of Seller Central, and the same details must also appear on the product or its accompanying documents.
How fast can I get an EU Responsible Person?
Onboarding speed depends mostly on your paperwork. Once your product documentation — test reports, technical file, labelling — is complete and reviewed, we sign the mandate and issue the Responsible Person details you enter into Seller Central. Incomplete files take longer, because we check every product before accepting responsibility for it.
