GPSR Compliance for Etsy Sellers — EU Responsible Person
Etsy has built GPSR tools into Shop Manager, and sellers outside the EU need an EU Responsible Person to keep selling to EU buyers — handmade items included. We act as your Responsible Person from Germany: you get the contact details Etsy asks for, plus a review of your product documentation.
Does Etsy require GPSR?
Yes. Since April 2025, Etsy has provided GPSR tools so sellers can show the required safety information on EU-bound listings. You add your EU Responsible Person in Shop Manager under Settings > Partners you work with, then link them to your listings. Sellers outside the EU need a Responsible Person to complete this step.
How do I add a Responsible Person on Etsy?
Open Shop Manager and go to Settings > Partners you work with. Add a new partner with the Responsible Person's name, address and e-mail, and select the Responsible Person role. Then connect that partner to each EU-bound listing so the details appear where EU buyers and authorities can see them.
Do handmade products need GPSR compliance?
Yes. The GPSR covers virtually all consumer products placed on the EU market, and there is no exemption for handmade, small-batch or craft items. If you make jewellery, toys, candles, cosmetics accessories or clothing and sell to EU buyers, your products need safety documentation, correct labelling and an EU Responsible Person.

You get the Responsible Person name, address and e-mail in Germany for your labels, packaging or product inserts.
Add them to your Etsy shop
Enter the details in Shop Manager under Partners you work with and link them to your EU-bound listings. We remain your point of contact for market surveillance authorities.
