A Safety Gate alert should trigger a focused review when the notified product shares a relevant model, supplier, material, construction, age group or foreseeable use with your product. The next question is whether the recorded failure is already covered by the product's risk controls and evidence.
- Exact product, model or batch match: stop routine treatment and begin the applicable incident, traceability and corrective-action process.
- Close technical match: review the risk analysis, tests, warnings, instructions and supplier evidence; update them if the alert changes the known risk.
- Broad category match only: record the alert and its screening reason. Do not treat category similarity alone as proof of non-compliance.

What can Safety Gate monitoring not prove?
Safety Gate monitoring cannot prove that a product is safe, compliant or free from future recalls. A search with no close match means only that no matching public alert was found under the terms and filters used at that time.
Safety Gate also cannot replace product-specific testing, applicable harmonised or other standards, supplier controls, complaint handling or current technical documentation. Monitoring is valuable because it adds verified market evidence to those controls.
